The founder of MIS Solutions, Dr. Frank Miles, was one of the many
scientists that has helped create the processing software dedicated
to 3D rendering of DICOM
images produced by medical equipment (MRI, CT, PET, PET-CT) and
confocal microscopy (LSM and BioRAD-PIC format) in use at our center.
Our 3D rendering software can also read many other file formats:
TIFF (8,16, 32 bits), JPEG, PDF, AVI, MPEG and Quicktime. It is
fully compliant with the DICOM standard for image communication
and image file formats and designed to take advantage of Apple's
Xgrid technology. Our supercomputer array is able to receive
images transferred by DICOM communication protocol from any PACS
or medical imaging modality
and process them within minutes, not hours or days.
With software
designed for navigation and visualization of multimodality and multidimensional
images, some of our software features and services to our radiologists
include:
- 3D Viewing
and export
- 4D Viewing
(3D series with temporal dimension, for example: Cardiac-CT) with
export to Apple Quicktime™ .mov files.
- 5D Viewing
(3D series with temporal and functional dimensions, for example:
Cardiac-PET-CT).
The 3D Viewer
offers all modern rendering modes:
- Multiplanar
reconstruction (MPR),
- Surface Rendering,
- Volume Rendering
and
- Maximum Intensity
Projection (MIP).
All these modes
support 4D data and are able to produce image fusion between two
different series (for example: PET-CT).

Exporting
DICOM images
MIS Solutions
will export your DICOM images as TIFF, JPEG, RAW or DICOM images
or as a Quicktime sequence. This allows you to capture selected
images in a format that will allow you to bring them into, for example,
PowerPoint or Keynote presentations or import them into a Microsoft
Word document.
